Our Purpose,
It is a joy to be a part of Shining Light Baptist Church in Morganton, N.C. Since it's beginning, July 2000, The Church has seen tremendous growth & progress, and is the fastest growing Sunday School in the area.

The purpose of Shining Light Baptist Church is three fold:

(1) Exalt the Savior
(2) Evangelize the Sinner
(3) Edify the Saints

Shining Light Baptist Church has Sunday School at 10 A.M.
With classes for all age groups. Our Sunday School is exciting & there are qualified teachers in each class who take their job & commitment seriously. You won't be bored, you won't be left out in our Sunday School.

We have preaching service at 11 A.M. & 6 P.M. on Sundays, with plenty of good, heart-felt down to earth singing from the congregation, choir, and special groups. People love the singing, and the choir is invited often to sing in other Church Revivals.

Our theme at Shining Light Baptist Church is "Bible Preaching", and after the singing & fellowship we get plenty of that from our pastor, Brother Danny Castle. He preaches the word of God, King James 1611, exactly as it is, to men, exactly as they are. We never have to worry about hearing corrupt versions, false doctrine, or liberalism from our pulpit.

We also have prayer meeting & Bible study on Wednesday evening at 7 P.M. Where our pastor teaches the Bible verse by verse and everyone can participate. Our Giant "Spring Youth Rally", held every year at the Burke Co. Fairgrounds in May of 2004 brought in over 1000 people, with over 70 young people professing their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Over 50 Churches were represented from many states.

We also host the "Carolina Camp Meeting" held in mid-October each year, with preachers and singers from many Churches. Camp Meeting is always a great time of refreshing for the saints.

Other Ministries include Youth Camp, Street preaching, Tract ministry, Hospital & Rest Homes.

The Bus Ministry at Shining Light Baptist Church has been a tremendous blessing to the Church, as well as a great outreach to Burke, Caldwell, and Catawba counties. We now operate four bus routes bringing an average of 100 kids and adults per Sunday.

We give God the Glory for what he is doing in our Church. We know we are not worthy of his blessings. Thank God for his mercy.
